How To Identify The Correct Consumables For LOTOS Plasma Cutters

In this guide we will help you find the correct consumables for your LOTOS machine. There are a wide variety of consumables made for different LOTOS models and it is important you purchase the correct ones. Using the wrong consumables can result in damage to your machine and can also be a safety hazard. Below you will find each LOTOS machine listed with the correct consumables for that specific unit. Be sure that your machine looks like the picture shown as there are both “red” and “brown” versions of certain model numbers (for example the Red LTP5000D consumables are not the same as the Brown LTP5000D consumables).

How often do I need to change consumables?

Changing your consumables is based on the cut quality your machine is producing. It is important to remember how well you machine cuts with a new set of consumables as this will be your benchmark to compare to in the future. If you notice your machine making cuts that are not equivalent to your benchmark cut then it’s time for a new set of consumables. Signs that you need a new set of consumables include:

  • Excessively big hole in the torch nozzle compared to new nozzles
  • Irregularly shaped nozzle hole (it should be round)
  • Slightly angled cuts that were produced from a torch held at 90 degrees
  • Large hole (crater) in the electrode tip compared to a new electrode
  • Plugged holes in the shield cap
